Google just jumped the gun and unveiled a teaser for its upcoming Made By Google event, revealing the design of the Pixel 10 Pro smartphone. The Pixel 10 Pro teaser came completely out of the blue without any fanfare, with Google updating its storefront to showcase a small video clip for the upcoming device.
If you were hoping that the Google Pixel 10 Pro would be sporting a new look in 2025, you’re going to be a little disappointed seeing as not much has changed in terms of appearance. The bold design of the Pixel 9 series has been carried over to the Pixel 10 series as far as we can tell from the appearance preview. There appears to be some uncertainty online regarding which model of the Pixel 10 series has been depicted in the teaser, but considering the post starts with the mention of “Google Pixel 10 Pro. Coming 21 August,” we’re choosing to believe it’s the Pro model on display.

The Pixel 10 Pro Reveal Comes A Month Ahead of Its Release
Google isn’t one to shy away from dropping some key details about a release or announcement well in advance to give its fans something to talk about. Last year, Google released a teaser for the Pixel 9 Pro before the device made its debut, and it’s clear that the company has decided to take the same route this time as well.
With the number of leaks and renders making their rounds regarding the Pixel 10 series, particularly the Fold variant, the discussions regarding the device’s release have been garnering a lot of attention. Google recently confirmed that the Made by Google launch event was scheduled for August 20, 2025, which is when we expected the smartphone series to be released. Now with Google’s latest post mentioning “August 21,” this could be the date when the pre-orders open up for the device.
The Google Pixel 10 Pro Teaser Gives Nothing New Away
The early Pixel 10 Pro reveal is a welcome contribution from Google, but there is hardly anything we have to learn from the teaser. The design of the device looks identical to the previous releases from Google, especially with the sleek aluminum frame and matte rear cover. The camera island takes up just as much space as before, with a triple-lens array accompanied by a flash and sensor on the raised platform.
The buttons on the side remain the same, and there is no fingerprint scanner to be seen on the back, so it is evident that Google is not bringing back the beloved rear scanner after it was abandoned a few generations ago.
If this wasn’t a teaser for the Pixel 10 Pro, we would assume that it was an image showcasing a new greyish-blue color variant for the Pixel 9 Pro series. If we’re wrong in guessing that the teaser was for a Pixel 10 Pro when it was actually a Pixel 10 reveal, then the image would be considerably more exciting. Google is reportedly bringing the third telephoto lens from the Pixel 9 Pro to all of the Pixel 10 models, so this could depict the upgrade in the base model of the smartphone.
The Google Announcement Also Comes with the Promises of “Exclusive Offers”
The Google Pixel 10 series’ early reveal for 2025 also brings an offer for subscribers. Reportedly, Google Store subscribers who sign up by August 19 will get an exclusive offer that they can use to purchase their Pixel 10 series phones. They can expect to receive the offer the day the smartphones open up for pre-order.
From the look of the disclaimer at the bottom of the page, this is likely a promotional code that users can activate to bring down the price of their purchase by a small degree. The promotional code will expire within 2 weeks, so those who receive it will have a limited amount of time to purchase the relevant Pixel 10 smartphone, exclusively from the Google Store.
Excited for the Pixel 10 Pro Launch?
The Pixel 10 Pro reveal essentially confirmed what we already knew about the device—that it wasn’t changing in any significant way. We know that the internally designed Tensor G5 chip is expected to feature on the device, making it one of the most anticipated upgrades. Early Pixel 10 rumors also suggest some bold color options for the base model, such as Obsidian, Frost, Indigo, and Limoncello. Whether Google is dropping the “Porcelain” title for the white color remains to be seen, but it wouldn’t be the most groundbreaking of revelations.
Most of the excitement remains centered around the Pixel 10 Pro Fold and whether it will be able to challenge the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 that was just released. Samsung is also expected to release a Trifold phone this year, but it doesn’t look like Google has any plans to expand in that direction for now.
We’re only a few weeks away from the Made By Google event where all the Pixel 10 series specs will be revealed, but until then, we’ll be on the lookout for more leaks, rumors, and official announcements regarding the upcoming smartphone series.
