Welcome to our February 2023 Tech News Update. As you all know we started a new segment called ‘Monthly Tech News Update’ in January. We felt that the new year calls for something afresh and that’s how we came up with this new series for our beloved readers. Last month, we published our first issue titled ‘An Eventful Start: January 2023 Tech Round up’, which gave readers a fair idea about how the year started off.
The response has been quite positive as our readers have really enjoyed the first part of this new segment and we have decided to go on with this. Hey! The wait is over and here’s the second segment, Keeping Us on Our Toes: February 2023 Tech News Update. Now the question arrives, why did we decide to keep such a title? The answer is plain and simple – after an eventful start in January, February turned out to be quite happening, keeping us on our toes.
Now without much ado, let’s have a quick look at the major highlights for a quick recap, as we move on to March, which also has many exciting events in store. Here we go!
To begin with, we had Souls of Chronos in early February, the news of whose arrival kept game nerds across the world absolutely hooked.
February showed that there’s a renewed interest among the tech savvy people so far as smartwatches are concerned. From the budget-friendly Fitbit Sense 2 and Fire-Boltt Phoenix to the elite Galaxy Watch 5 Pro by Samsung – smartwatches continued to dominate the global tech market.
On the other front, smart TVs managed to keep up the momentum in terms of sales. Sony led the charge quite expectedly, with its fascinating range of top-notch models – Bravia X95K, Bravia XR A95K and Bravia XR A80K. It was followed by a tricky customer in the form of TCL C11G 4K QLED.
Two exciting flagship smartphones arrived in the scene to make things even spicier – OnePlus 11 and Galaxy S23 Ultra. Both of them are expected to emerge as key players for this calendar year, so far high-end smartphones are concerned.
Steam Next Fest unraveled the games to watch out for over the course of the next few months, whereas, Pocket gained prominence as a very useful ‘Read it Later’ app.
SpaceX went on to make it to the headlines for a number of occasions, as Super Heavy and Falcon 9 were unleashed along with new updates for Crew 6 Mission and Starship Orbital Flight.
For gamers who are mad about football, there were enough to rejoice as Football Manager 2023 and eFootball 2023 Season 3 became new toasts of the town.
There were scary things too. The GoDaddy hack incident shook the entire world as it gave us another reminder to tighten our cybersecurity floodgates.
ChatGPT continued to be trending and Sony’s PlayStation VR2 made gamers crazy. From Xiaomi’s AR Smart Glass and new TikTok monetization tool to massive interest around TikTok Ads and calls for Crypto insurance, February was full of interesting events.
But perhaps, auto was the most booming sector, as more and more exciting cars were rolled out – 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2023 Toyota Tacoma, 2023 Chevrolet Colorado and 2023 Honda Accord.
Creators became overjoyed as Twitter changed its ad revenue model, allowing creators to enjoy their share of the pie.
In a nutshell, February proved that the year 2023 is going to be a roller-coaster ride for the tech world. Bingo!
