It’s a cautiously optimistic time to be a Halo fan, even if you’re slowly losing faith in Microsoft and Xbox. In a recent blog post on the Halo Waypoint page, a new Halo teaser was revealed by the team. Technically, the reveal didn’t bring any new insights into the game but instead told us when we could expect more news, however, the confirmation was welcome nonetheless. The post urged fans to tune in to the Halo World Championship scheduled in October for more clarity on what to expect from the studio.
“We don’t usually comment on such matters, but this time we want to enter the chat and share a little more perspective for Halo fans who might be on the fence about whether to attend this year’s event,” the post explained. This Halo WC25 update in June appears to be more of a promotional advert for the event rather than a game announcement, but it worked because fans are now eagerly awaiting the championship to see if they are finally rewarded with a new Halo game announcement.

A Halo 7 Teaser in 2025 or a Marketing Gimmick to Promote WC25?
The Halo World Championship is an incredibly competitive event for gamers who want to win big and prove themselves on the global platform. While its results don’t entirely excite many outside of its community, the gamers who win these championship series earn the respect of thousands of players from across the globe. The 2024 HWC ended with Spacestation winning the championship, battling it out for $1,000,000. This year could be just as exciting.
Apart from announcing the game winners, Microsoft confirmed some Halo news at the event last year, showing off the trailer for A New Dawn, which was the re-emergence of the Halo series with concepts for new Halo projects in Unreal Engine 5. We got a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Project Foundry, which represents the company’s “multi-discipline research and reflection on what is required to build Halo in Unreal, while also serving as a training tool for our development process going forward.”
Apart from showcasing the evolution of Halo, we also saw Halo developer 343 Industries rebrand itself as Halo Studios, indicating the team’s full-time commitment to building up some new Halo games. Microsoft’s Halo 2024 teaser confirmed that the team was “working on multiple projects and looking to grow [the] team as [they] build the next generation of Halo,” but the company has been awfully quiet about what it has been working on so far.
Microsoft Confirms Halo News Is Coming at Halo WC2025
New Halo teasers for 2025 are expected to arrive during the Halo World Championship between October 24-26 in Seattle. If you want to catch the event live, you can buy tickets to attend the event in Seattle or watch it online. No details were provided on what to expect, so we don’t know if we’ll bear witness to more theoretical evolutions in Halo’s design or get concrete proof that a game is on the way. We’re nearly certain that the Halo teasers won’t reveal a new game for 2025, but we’re hopeful there will be something for 2026 at least.
The last launch in the series, Halo Infinite, was released back in 2021, and it was a less-than-stellar debut. While it still received high praise and the title of one of the best additions to the series, it did stumble in some regards, but in areas where 343 Industries could easily work things out with a new game.
Does the Microsoft Halo 2025 teaser focus on a new game or a remake—that is the question of the hour. There are rumors that suggest that 2001’s Halo: Combat Evolved will be remade on Unreal Engine 5 right from scratch, which could be a generous gift to fans both old and new. However, it is unlikely that the devs will stop there. We’re hoping to see a Halo 7 reveal trailer during the event, which would be transformative.
Halo Cross-Platform News Gains Steam
A new Halo game announcement would be exciting in its own right, but that’s not all we’ve heard with regard to the game. It appears that the Halo series could make a shift to the PS5 and Switch 2, growing beyond its Xbox and PC shackles. A multiplatform approach to Xbox games has been in the works for a while now, and with other titles like Gears of War already transitioning, it won’t be surprising if Halo makes the same move.
All said and done, the 25-year anniversary of Halo is coming up next year, and we expect Microsoft to have planned some major announcements to mark the occasion. The company could well end up disappointing us, but we’re hoping that with Halo Studio at the helm, we’re all set for something special to make an appearance. We’ll make sure to keep our eyes out for more Halo teasers that make an appearance in 2025 so make sure to come back for more.
